--- The work gathers stories from Indigenous people living in urban environments, drawing from their individual life experiences to identify objects connected to their homelands, family memories, or personal identities. Through double-exposure portraiture, the subjects and these fragments of memory are layered into one another. Inspired by the arrangement of ritual offerings in Kasavakan ceremonies, portraits, objects, and traces of memory are collaged and reassembled into corresponding pairs, each becoming part of an unfinished puzzle of lived experience. Through these gathered and rearranged fragments, the work considers how contemporary urban Indigenous people navigate histories of colonisation, cultural rupture, and continual social change—moving between homeland and city while reconstructing their own cultural memory and sense of identity.
